Environment

Parklife Metro is committed to undertaking all works in accordance with legislative requirements and proactively minimising environmental harm. We will seek continual improvement in environmental performance through planning, implementation, evaluation and review with all employees and contractors.

Sustainability

We will deliver sustainable social and environmental outcomes by minimising energy use and maximising sustainability, minimising impacts on the environment, and promoting workforce development. There are more than 1300 requirements and 80-plus targets related to sustainability to be delivered across design, construction, procurement, rail systems and operations.

Community

Parklife Metro is dedicated to establishing and maintaining proactive relationships with key stakeholders, interfacing projects, communities and businesses. We recognise that effective community and stakeholder engagement is essential in minimising and mitigating any construction impacts and we will strive for a continuous improvement approach. We will also work closely with local communities to identify and implement community benefit and legacy initiatives.

Construction

We are focussed on safely delivering a high quality, reliable, efficient and affordable public transport project before operations commence at the Western Sydney International Airport. Assurances and verification activities will be undertaken during construction to ensure the necessary standards, design, and durability performance requirements are achieved.

Health and Safety

Creating a safe workplace for our staff and contractors is a priority – we want everyone to make it home safely at the end of each day. Our commitment to safety also extends to the local communities we work within.

Design

The design vision we developed at the beginning of our collective journey, underpinned all our design thinking is Sustainable Communities Connected by Country. Our goal is to ensure seamless, connected, and convenient travel experiences for all our customers. Each key area or system of the project has a dedicated design-led working group to present the progress of design, discuss key issues, engage with key stakeholders, undertake peer to peer discussions and consult on the key aspects of design outside of the typical design submission process.

Operations

Connecting and linking customers to the Western Sydney Airport is fundamental to our operational solution. Our customer-centric approach will support customers at any point of their trip, including those with luggage or special needs, and airport travelers requiring urgent travel information. We consider consistent availability of the SM-WSA line as a top priority.

Sustainability

Parklife Metro’s design and operational solution means Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport will be the first rail project in Australia to commit to becoming certified carbon neutral from the start of construction all the way throughout operation.

All carbon emissions generated during construction and operation will be reduced and offset.

Management Plan
